Hi, I just ran across your Blog and as a feminist I love everything about the success of women. As a sports mom and seeing the struggle minority sports women go through daily I started a blog: The Women in Sports Angel Foundation is on a mission to assist minority women who chose professional sport as their career. As I’m starting out I need all the exposure I can get. So if you can list my Blog and keep in touch with me I’d be happy to work with you guys anytime. Thanks and God Bless!

Hi! I was really excited to come across your blog and read the recent posts about aging. My name is Julia Rice and I am an artist who normally lives in Spain but am currently in San Francisco for 3 months (until November) doing an art project and exhibition on women, beauty and aging.

In my project, I am interviewing women, aged 60 and older, on their views of beauty when they were in their 20s compared to what they believe now. I then make photographs & paintings of their faces. I’ve also started a blog with the same questions for women (of any age or place) to do online.

So far I have a fascinating collection of interviews. I have one woman who worked as a Chicago theater actress in the 1940s, another who worked in Washington DC as a civil rights activist in the ´60s, and others who grew up in the countrysides of Mexico and Nicaragua. As I only have one month left of my project, I am trying to get in touch with as many interested women and women’s organizations as I can.

I appreciate any and all leads in this!

A Second Chance Petition for Offenders of a first-time fatal crime

There are over two and a half million incarcerated individuals in the penal system and thousands of them are first-time offenders of either a non-violent or violent crime. As many of you are aware, a recent Bill by U.S. Senator Jim Webb of VA, may soon be passed to investigate the Nation’s entire Criminal Justice System because of America’s reputation as the ONLY country in the world to have the highest rates of incarceration and human right’s violations. The goal is to decrease the rate of individuals incarcerated. So please click on the below link and sign this very important petition and also please pass the information on to all loved ones having a relative or friend, serving a life without parole sentence for a first-time fatal offense. Thank-you

Thank you for sharing the exciting news. The Aging Justice Team is awesome. There are many women concerned about our elders in prison. We are dreaming ourselves into having a day long delegation at CCWF. Plans are taking form now, funding is being solicited. If you are interested in being invited, let me know. We are projecting 50 outside guests who have a passion for this mission and dire situation. Women 55+ are allowed bottom bunks. FYI, they just ran out of bottom bucks for them! This population is growing. Suzanne
